Flume Design

by plone last modified 2006-10-27 11:40

The physical modeling experiments conducted for this project will utilize the hydraulic modeling facilities at the University of California’s Richmond Field Station.

An existing flume and associated support infrastructure are being modified to accommodate: a wider range of discharges; controlled sediment feed and sediment removal; and precision measurements of bed topography and bed texture. For the dam removal experiments, a variable width upstream reservoir will then be added to the modified flume to contain model sediment deposits.
