by plone last modified 2006-10-27 12:03

To help collect information on the design and implementation of gravel augmentation, dam removal, and channel-floodplain reconstruction projects, and to help guide the development of the proposed physical modeling experiments, a scientific advisory panel will be convened for the Physical Modeling Experiments project. The Scientific Advisory Panel is:

  • Dr. Peter Wilcock, PhD (Johns Hopkins University)
  • Dr. Gary Parker , PhD (University of Illinois)
  • Dr. Tom Lisle, PhD (US Forest Service)
  • Scott McBain, MS (McBain and Trush)
  • Kris Vyverberg, RG (CA Dept of Fish & Game)

The panel will meet semi-annually throughout the three-year duration of the experimental program. The scientific advisory panel will review experimental design, procedures and results, and will review the incorporation of the experimental results into the revised numerical models. Panel members will also participate in several workshops, assist in arranging visits to appropriate field sites for students and staff conducting the experiments, and review important project documents and deliverables.
